Unique Coffee Stick Drill!

by Robert Mirzak
(Glendale, CA.)

I just came up with an Idea that made me understand the plane of a swing and after practicing I found it works for both the Irons and the driver, with a little adjustment.

I have turned into a golfer who just scored a 71 on a course where I could'nt break 80. The course is a par 62.

I hope this works for others to understand how the clubhead should connect with the ball. You will have to make a trip to Starbucks coffee shop to pick up the tool for free!

Just a little happy joke there! Ok, here we go. Firstly, set the ball on the ground. Very easy hah?

Secondly, lay a coffee stiring stick as I have shown in the picture.

Now the idea is to break the stick in half at impact. This gives you an excellent visual idea to let the club head down swing down onto the ball.

I believe this is a revolutionary discovery to teach anyone how the swing plane should be into impact.

Robert this is a fantastic drill and I see more uses than what you have found. Most beginners struggle to get the ball airborne and this gives an excellent visual of what should be happening at impact with the irons.

Regarding the woods, it gives a sense of sweeping the ball if you have the ball teed up.

Since swing path plays a vital role in direction of the ball, you could even place the stick at an angle facing slightly right of your target instread of straight to the target.

This gives a visual of the swing path being slightly right of your target which is the most powerful path to create distance. In teaching terms we call it an in to out swing path.

Well done! I'm sure our visitors will love using the coffee stick drill!
