I was a slicer until I got a lesson with an experienced teaching pro. He put me on video and saw that at the very top of my back swing my club face was way open and I was opening my club face too much in the take away.
If you don't have the club face set right at the top of the back swing you will never hit the ball straight because you will deliver the club either open or closed at impact.
